Sam & Kate

January 13th, 2009

Sam & Kate were married on the 2nd of January 2009. My first wedding for the year! Congratulations guys.

Thought I’d try out animoto again. Better resolution this time so it could be slow to load. If that is the case, start it loading and hit pause till the whole thing buffers.

Joel & Belinda were married in Canberra on the 6th of December 2008

New Zealand

September 8th, 2008

I started writing this a couple of weeks back but have been too busy to finish it! So finally, a few photos from New Zealand.

I didn’t take many photos in Christchurch (except for the wedding). This is the view we had from our room. The park you can see is called Victoria Square.

The day after the wedding we drove 6 or so hours to get to a place called Franz Joseph. To get there though, we had to go through Authors pass. These were actually some of the first sheep that we saw!

When we got to the top the snow was ridiculous & traffic was held up for a long way.

This guy wasn’t going to get too far!

One part of the road, which must be particularly susceptible to land slides, or something, had this roof over it.

We did eventually make it to Franz Joseph though. This is the main street.

You can’t see it in this picture but further up the river is the Franz Joseph glacier.

Sunset at Franz Joseph

Next day we went for a walk to the glacier. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed up very close because we were not with a guide.

After that we had to drive for another 5+ hours to get to Queenstown.

This is Queenstown, viewed from the Gondola

Paraglide. Would be awesome fun I reckon, thought I’d save that for next time though.

We did a wine tour through the Central Otaga region. This is the first winery we went to ‘Peregrine’, they make some great wines! I thought it would be a bus load of wine snobs but it wasn’t and was heaps of fun.

On the way back from the tour we stopped into a winery that was near the AJ Hackett Bungy place. Unfortunately they were packing everything up when we got there. It is 43 Metres above some beautifully clear water.

After Queenstown we stayed at Wanaka. This was my favourite place that we went to.

This is 1/2 sec @ f22. Not bad for hand held I thought!

We did some skiing out of Wanaka at a place called Cardrona. I am really dissappointed that the only day I took the camera up with me we couldn’t see anything. This was the last day we had skiing, and we didnt get to do much.

Well, thats all I am going to put up. Hope it wasn’t too boring! We had a great time, and would <!– /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:”"; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:”Times New Roman”;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} –> definately go back again!
